Stalin's Domestic Policies & Impact - Political, & Economic Changes

The USSR will be destroyed by other capitalist countries if we don't start modernizing the country quick. To prevent the country of being destroyed by the capitalists, Stalin wants to turn the Soviet Union into a modern world power. Our great leader Stalin is demonstrating the superiority of communism over capitalism by providing a modern USSR, this would out produce the leading capitalist nations. We as citizens all want our country to turn into a modern industrialised country, and so Stalin launched a method of Collectivization and a series of 5-year plans to turn Russia into a modern industrialized country. Stalin had many ways in doing this, and in his first 5-year plan one of his aims is increasing agricultural production for a modernized farming system. He also followed a course of collectivization and modernization in order to produce enough food to feed the population. During the second 5-year plan, Stalin introduced a state supported childcare institution, and this encouraged many women to start working. Other than the variety of women working, this plan is aimed to advance the Soviet Union’s communication systems and the railways especially, and by this great plan we are resulting in both speed and reliability. The third 5-year is to prepare Russia for the war with Germany, so it was mostly focused on the production of weapons and other wartime material. Stalin wanted to produce more goods such as radios to raise the quality of living, and make our lives easier. Another great advantage was given to us, Medicine and free education were made available to much more of the population, and rationing came to an end. On the political Stalin’s images were everywhere, and the images showed all the kindness that was in him and how powerful our leader is. Stalin would always smile at people, most of the times his pictures would be with smiling children, and this makes us feel more comfortable and well assured that we are in good hands.
